Maniac Store Developer Terms
Version 2026-10-28.2
These terms are between you (the developer) and Georgios Charilaou, a private individual in Limassol, Cyprus, who runs the Maniac Store at store.maniaclab.app ("the Store", "I", "me"). They apply when you register as a developer and every time you submit an app. Contact: support@maniaclab.app.
1. Your account
You submit apps with your Maniac ID. Keep access to its e-mail address and your developer signing key safe: everything sent with them counts as sent by you. Tell me straight away if you think someone else has them.
2. Review
I review every submission before it is published. I may reject any app, or ask for changes, for any reason or for none, and I don't have to publish anything or do it by a certain time. When I reject an app I will usually say why, so you can fix it and send a new build.
3. What apps may not do
- No malware of any kind: no viruses, spyware, adware, ransomware, cryptocurrency mining, back doors, or code that downloads and runs any of these later.
- No collecting or sending users' personal data without telling them clearly and getting their consent, and no more data than the app needs.
- No getting around the security of Maniac OS, its licensing or other apps, and no pretending to be another app, developer or the system.
- Nothing illegal, nothing that infringes anyone's rights, no sexual content involving minors, no content meant to harass or incite violence.
- The name, description and screenshots must truthfully show what the app does.
4. You are responsible for your app
You must own your app or have every right needed to distribute it: its code, the libraries it uses, fonts, images, sounds and other content. You must follow the licences of the open-source and third-party parts you use, including any notices and source-code requirements. You are responsible for your app's content, for supporting its users, and for following the laws that apply to it, including data-protection law (such as the GDPR) for any data it handles. If someone makes a claim against me because of your app or because you broke these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs that this causes me.
5. Permission to distribute
By submitting an app you allow me, without payment and not exclusively, worldwide, to store it, check it, pack and sign it with the Store's key, distribute it to users of Maniac OS through the Store and its update service, and show its name, icon, screenshots and description in the Store and when talking about the Store. Users may install and use the app under the licence you give it. This permission lasts as long as the app is in the Store; you can end it by asking me to remove the app. Copies already installed may stay on users' PCs.
6. Paid apps
- Free apps cost nothing to submit, and I don't charge you anything for them.
- To submit or update a paid app you need a Maniac Developer membership: EUR 20 a year, sold through Lemon Squeezy, which renews each year until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the subscription page; it then runs to the end of the year you paid for. You can ask for a refund within 14 days of a payment; after that the fee is non-refundable, unless Lemon Squeezy's rules or the law give you a refund.
- You are the seller of record of your paid apps. You sell them through your own payment account (your own Lemon Squeezy store, Stripe or another provider), set their prices, and you alone are responsible for the sale: taxes such as VAT, invoices, refunds, chargebacks, licence keys and support for your buyers.
- The Store only lists your app and links to your own checkout. I never receive, hold or pass on your buyers' money: there is no commission and there are no payouts, and neither of us owes the other any money for your sales.
- The price, the payment page and the licensing you give must be honest and must work: buyers must get what they paid for.
- If your membership ends, your published apps stay in the Store and keep working for the people who bought them, but you can't submit new paid apps or updates of them until you renew.
- I may remove a paid app, or close your developer account, for abuse: for example a misleading price or payment page, taking payment without delivering the app, breaking licences that buyers paid for, or complaints from buyers that you don't deal with. A membership fee already paid isn't refunded when an account is closed for abuse.
7. Removing apps and accounts
I may remove any app from the Store, stop offering it or its updates, or close or suspend your developer account, at any time, for example if an app breaks these terms, after a complaint, for security reasons, or if I stop running the Store. When I can, I will tell you first. Removing an app from the Store doesn't necessarily remove it from the PCs where it is already installed.
8. No guarantees
The Store is run by one person and is provided as it is. I don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that your app will reach any number of users. As far as the law allows, I am not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect damage, and my total liability to you is limited to EUR 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
9. Changes
I may change these terms. The new version gets a new version date; you will be asked to accept it before your next submission. If you don't accept, you can stop submitting and ask me to remove your apps.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Limassol, Cyprus, decide any dispute, unless the law of your country gives you a right that can't be taken away.
